TEAM 1 - 3

At Champions Gymnastics, we believe that “every child is a winner”. We offer various programs to meet the needs and abilities of all children.

Our TEAM Program follows the Gymnastics Canada and USA Gymnastics Competitive structure called the Junior Olympic (JO) Program.

The Women’s Junior Olympic Program is divided into three major segments; pre-competitive (JO 1-3), compulsory (JO 4-5), and optional (JO 6-10).

The JO program was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The program allows the gymnast to advance at her own pace, competing in more than one level in a year, if she so chooses.

The TEAM 1 – 3 Program is the Pre-Competitive segment in which athletes have the opportunity to learn routines and compete in introductory level competitions in a safe and fun environment.

Athletes progress from one level to another by ‘scoring out’ (achieving a specific score) at one of our in-house TEAM competitions.

This class is for GIRLS ONLY and lasts for two and a half (2.5) hours, twice per week.

Prior gymnastics experience is required (Badge 4 is the preferred per-requisite). For all other cases, please inquire about our Evaluation Process.

This program is designed to introduce intermediate and advanced recreational gymnastics skills, through compulsory routines and skills on each apparatus.

Each class begins with a warm-up/stretching. Gymnasts then rotate through various circuits.

Athletes registered in the TEAM program come and go through the Recreational Gym Entrance.  Classes are held in both sections of the gym.

Dress code: For all TEAM Program GIRLS, we require them to wear a specific red TEAM bodysuit. Shorts & shirt are not acceptable. If the athlete feels more comfortable, they may wear a pair of tight shorts over their bodysuit.
