Pre-school General Information

DSC00788.JPGThese programs do NOT require the participation of a care-giver and it is often the first class that a child will take without the assistance of a care-giver!… It is designed to introduce each child to the very basics of gymnastics-based movement, through organized games and circuits on each gymnastics event (vault, uneven bars, parallel bars, floor, trampoline, tumbling track, rings and beam).

This structured class is CHEERFUL and FUN. It introduces the notion of learning through repetition. This allows the young child to learn and to remember the skills. Balls, hoops, ribbons, bean bags and lots of other fun accessories are used to enhance this class.

Although the children are grouped according to age, there are four (4) sub-levels in this program; after each session, your child will get a detailed Report Card, which clearly identifies the skills that were learned/attempted (L) or mastered (√); a recommendation for the next level to register in also appears on the Report Card.

As the child’s skills progress, he/she may be invited to a higher level pre-school program. Both the “SuperTykes 1.5 hr” and “SuperTots 2 hr” (girls only) programs are by-invitation only and require above average ability as well as listening and motivation in class. Should your child be invited to one of these programs, your child’s coach will provide more information.

This program is designed as a bridge between our purely recreational programs and the developmental/competitive programs. This program introduces 4 to 6 year olds to developmental skills which could eventually qualify a gymnast for the developmental and possibly the competitive programs.

Access to this program is “by invitation only” and there is a compulsory bodysuit for all Super Girls.

This bodysuit is specific to the Super Girls program ONLY. It must be worn for those classes and NOT to be worn for any other class.
